I receive the following error message when trying to join our servers domain:

"Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using
more than one user name, are not allowed. Disconnect all previous
connections to the server or shared resource and try again."

Now I have tried to join the domiain using different user names. I have
also tried going to the server and dropping my connection from it using
server manager.

The server I am attempting to connect to is a old NT4.0 with all the latest
service packs and patches.

If you need more info please let me know. Any help resolving this issue
would be appreciated.

Running net use * /delete a command prompt to delete all share mappings
will often resolve this.

Tried what you said. Still cannot join domain. Still gives me the same
error. Any other suggestions?

I have disconnected all connections before I try joining. Basically I want
to join the domain with computer name STAT010. I can map network drives with
the name set to STAT009/STAT008. I don't know why it requires the slash but
that is the only way I can get it map the drives. I would like to be able to
just join the domain as STAT010. All of the onld Win 98 machines have a
single computer name that joins but the XP machines seem to need a
STAT***/STAT*** naming configuration to join.
