Problems joining XP Professional to a Windows 2000 Domain

When trying to join a xp Pro laptop to a Windows 2000 Prof Server Domain I
get the following error message:

Your computer could not be joined to the domain.

Multiple connections to a server or shared resource, by the same user, using
more than one name is not allowed.

Anyone have any ideas?

Go to a command prompt, and then issue this command:

net use * /DELETE

Then try to join the domain again.
