Error message when trying to Import music

I'm getting an error message when I try to import music. The message reads:

C:\Documents and Settings\Dell\My Documents\My Music\Amazon MP3\Randy
Newman\Toy Story\01 - You've Got A Friend In Me.mp3 could not be imported.
The selected file is not valid or is corrupted.

I tried other MP3's from different file locations and I still got the same
message of "The selected file is not valid or is corrupted."

I was able to import audio and jpegs to create an AVI clip last week. I'm
not sure what changed. Any help would be appreciated.

FYI - I'm using Windows XP.

Movie Maker has issues with MP3 files...

Might be worth a try to convert to .wma before importing.

The following freeware can do the conversion:

(FWIW...it's always a good idea to create a System
Restore point before installing software or updates)

Format Factory
http://www.pcfreetime.com/
(FWIW...when installing...you may want to uncheck
all the boxes on the final screen)

After downloading and installing Format Factory...
open the program and choose an Output Folder...
(this is where you will find your files after they are
converted)

Drag/drop your MP3 files onto the main screen...

Select 'All to WMA' / OK...

Click...Start...on the toolbar...
