Audio - The selected file is not valid or is corrupted.

I am running Winwows XP with Movie maker 2.1.4026.0. Video Clips are fine but
when I try & import mp3 audio files I get the message - F:\My
Data\audiofile.mp3 could not be imported. The selected file is not valid or
is corrupted.

Please could someone help

i am runnig xp i had the same problem with my movie maker be coz i have
install media player codec 2 and block me from burning and eding music and
back ground music now i am so happy after unistalling codec programs for
madia player i am back to normal plz unistall any codec's for media player
on ur pc and u be ok.worst software is the media player codec pack v2.2.0
last 7 days i tho i was gettin crayz,let me know how did u go plz

I found I had to rewrite some of the MP3 tags to remove unrecognized
characters. You need a special program for that, but there are many free
versions. This solved the problem of importing certain mp3 files into
MovieMaker.
