Error message when sending email

My mail fails when sending and I get this error message:
The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'test', Account:
'Hotmail.com', Server: 'Hotmail.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL):
Yes, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Which Anti Virus are you using to scan your incoming and outgoing emails. Can you let us know

Windows Mail will not work with free Hotmail accounts.
To get that feature, upgrade to the newer Windows Live Mail:

Tried downloading update from link and still got error message so then I changed my default addess to my comcast address and still got this message: The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'test', Account: 'comcast.net', Server: 'comcast.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): Yes, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

You are not using the correct server name and port settings for Comcast.
Use these settings:
