Best you check settings with your ISP.
HOWEVER - you may try this first:
I had a similar problem.
I could receive but not send.
In the "Mail Servers Properties Box" try the following:

Incoming mail server = POP3
Incoming mail (POP3) = pop.your ISP name.com eg: pop.sky.com
Outgoing mail (SMTP)= smtp.your ISP name.com eg: smtp.sky.com
E-Mail user name = the first part of your email address (b4 the @ sign)
eg: john.smith

Remember Password box: Tick
Logon using secure password authentication: Do NOT Tick - (leave blank)
Mail server requires authentication: Tick

Good Luck & I Hope that works for you!

Sorry, doesn't help properties box is filled in correctly
do have a thought though mcafee virus detected a worm in email
fixed but it is after this that I have had a problem with sending emails.....
disable and redo setting in properties or do you have any thoughts or
ideas.....???

This is extremely frustrating and of course need to send emails these past
few days urgently.....hope this won't continue every time there is a
detection in my email....

Hi Alicia,
sorry that didnt seem to work. Did not realise mcafee issue.

Type in mcafee into the search box (just above, on this screen), and you
will find some very usefull info.
