error message when opening an attachment

In Outllook 2003 I am trying to open a .pdf file sent as an attachment. I
continue to receive the error: system cannot find the file specified. The
user recently had Acrobat 4.0 & 5.0 installed on their XP system. I
uninstalled them and then installed the "XP version" of Acrobat 5.1.

What is the best to cure this?
 
Never mind.. As always, after I submit a post, I figure it out. It was a
file association issue. it would be nice if the OS would automatically
associate these type files when an app is installed. Especially since the
only app I know of that opens .pdf's is Adobe.
