I am getting this message box after I open Add/Remove
Programs in Control Panel:

Add/Remove Programs
An unexpexted error occurred

Wrong number of arguments or invalid property assignment
res://sp3res.dll/default.hta
Line:84

OK

The file (sp3res.dll) appears to be in one or more of the
service packs. Shows up in the below listed folders with
different sizes, d57714397f47ecc57fe6e71a1863 size 3896KB,
WINNT\$NtServicePackUninstall$ size 3896KB,
WINNT\$NtServicePackUninstallB824141$ size 3917KB,
WINNT\$NtServicePackUninstallQ811493$ size 152KB,
WINNT\ServicePackFiles|i386 size 3917KB, WINNT\system32
size 4725 KB, WINNT\system32\dllcache size 4725KB.

It also shows up as sp3res.dll.000 in folder
WINNT\$NtServicePackUninstall$ size 60KB.

I click OK or X. Then click on what I want to do. There
appears to be no problem.
I took out a program. Rebooted. When back in and box was
still there.

Do I have a problem?
How do I get the error box to go away?

Thanks.

We've seen cases where the following solutions may resolve the issue:

In Internet Explorer, select Tools>Internet Options> Accessability. Uncheck
"Format Documents using my style sheet" then delete the file the style sheet
is using.

We have also received some similar reports from our customers and we found
most of these programs were caused by the third party spyware. To resolve
the program, please install Ad-ware 6 from the following link. Then run the
tool to remove any possible spyware from your computer. In most cases, it
will fix the issue.

Hello Lee,

Just a side note, the file sp3res.dll doesn't have anything to do with the
issue you are having. It's just the file that we are reading the error page
from.
