Error message upon restart

Recently had an Adware virus infect computer. Installed
Norton Virus 2004. On restart, an error message box pops
up. "RUNDLL ERROR loading C:\WINDOWS\ll4.dll The
specified module could not be found." Then the System32
box pops up saying "These files are hidden. The system
needs them to run the computer properly. You should not
modify these files."

Has anyone else experienced this kind of problem? How to
correct?

Hi,

Start/run regedit, navigate to these keys one at a time:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

For each, click on the key in the left pane, then click file/export and copy
it to the desktop (call them whatever you like, it matters not). Once you
have both keys copied, close the registry editor. Right-click the copied
file, then select edit (not merge, do not double-click it), it should open
in notepad. Click edit/select all/edit/copy. Open a response to this post
and click in the message text area. Hit ctrl+v to paste the contents. Repeat
for the other key. Send the post so we can examine it.
