error message on startup

hi to you,

when i boot up my PC i get this error message in the middle of the screen,

in the top left corner it say,s "hdreg"
and in the middle of box it says "run time error 53"

can anyone help me solve this problem

sorry but the HDreg was not in the list, do you or any one else have any
more ideas

The thing has to be either in the start up group ff the start menu or being
loaded from the registry.
Assuming you're XP click 'Start' > 'Run' type msconfig click 'OK'
Look at the startup and services tabs and see if it is being loaded from
here. Remove the tick and that should do it for you.

Does this error appear if you start in Safe Mode? If not do some clean boot
troubleshooting to see what is running at startup that's throwing that
error.

Packard-Bell? If so....


To solve this issue, you should delete the HDReg entry from the Scheduled
Tasks list.

To do so:
1. Click the Start button.
2. Click Control Panel.
* When in category view, click the Performance and Maintenance category.
3. Click the Control Panel icon Scheduled Tasks.
4. Select the item HDREG.
5. Click Delete this item and confirm the operation.

Good Morning..

I am have the same error 53 when I start up as you have.

Did your resolve it? How?? Help.
