Error message on opening movie maker

R

Ray Majors

I am getting an error message - " moviemaker has encountered a problem and
needs to close". The error signature says:

Appname: moviemak.exe App ver: 2.0.3312.0
Modname: gedit.dee mod VEr: 6.5.2600.5512 offset 0001af23t

the program then closes.

Thanks.

Version 2.0.3312.0?

Have you ever installed Windows XP SP2?

What version of IE are you running?

=====================================

I don't recall if it was ever verified...but at one it
was reported that having a program called Muvee
autoProducer installed might cause Movie Maker
to freeze when launching.

I'm thinking you need to get your system fully
updated. Unless you install the latest service
packs you can't even get security updates from
Windows Update.

Windows XP SP2 will install Movie Maker 2.1.

And of course you should also consider WinXP SP3...

If you prefer to reside in the past...maybe the
following links would offer something:

Good luck...
