Error message in email

I am using AVG free antivirus on this computer and sometimes I get the
following error in my email:

One or more Active X controls could not be displayed because either:

1. Your current security setting prohibit running active x controls on this
page or

2. You have blocked a publisher of one or the controls.

As a result, the page may not display correctly.

Can you tell me how to change my settings so I don't get this error message?

You don't want Active X controls in your mail. Do the opposite of what Gary
suggested and put OE into the restricted zone so that you won't get prompted
to install Active X controls.

Also, AVG is bad for WinMail. See point 3 here:

He's getting prompted by a script, so he needs to put WinMail into the
restricted zone to block the scripts.

Try this:
Go to Tools, Options, Security, select the Internet Zone.

That sounds like one way to handle it, but if the HTML email includes
a complex page, it may need a script to render it properly.

Unfortunately, if you get an ActiveX control in email, its likely to be a
virus. Those who regularly use HTML messaging would be able to determine
whether or not to allow it, but the original poster didn't seem to be adept
at such, so the restricted zone was warranted.
