Hello
I'm using windows xp home edition
While trying to access a particular website (www.hi5.com) all i get is: The
page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be
experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser
settings. and
Cannot find server or DNS Error. when i open the properties box i get :
res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdoclc.dll/dnserror.htm#http://hi5.com.
I've done reading on the newsgroup and tried a lsp-fix but there were no
problem found. i've tried to ping it and got 4 sent, 4 received.
i've tried successfully to access other websites but www.hi5.com is the only
one i cannot get through.
thanks for your help

Lili,

In 'Tools > Internet Options > Security tab', click 'Default Level', click
OK.

Also, at 'Tools > Internet Options > Advanced tab', make sure your
'Security' settings are also default. You might have to click 'Restore
Defaults', which may also change other settings you want changed, note those
settings before clicking 'Restore Defaults'.

Try this...

http://www.spychecker.com/program/winsockxpfix.html

I had a similar problem but with a different website. The LSP-Fix
didn't show any problems for me either, but this program Winsockxpfix
apparently did and fixed things up nicely.

I did have to redo some of my connection settings afterwards
though, but that was far less a hassle than the original problem was.

Make sure you run scans for spyware and trojans since they can be the
root cause of the problem.

Hiya
I've ran Spybot search and destroy, and got ride of a few spyware, and
tried Winsockxpfix but my problem remains...
