On XP Professional using OutLook 2002 I get the following
error when I try to send email. I can receive email OK,
however sending email is a problem.

I am on a DSL account with verizon and have spoken to
their tech support. They say the email is configured OK
but dont understand why the following message appears
when sending email:

Task 'incoming.verizon.net - Sending and Receiving'
reported error (0x800CCC78) : 'Unable to send the
message. Please verify the e-mail address in your account
properties. The server responded: ?3 Authentication is
required to send mail as <[email protected]>'

Is Authentication set up on the Server tab of your mail account properties?
