Error Message "Could not open item. Try again."

When trying to assign a category to an email that arrives in my shared inbox,
I get the error message "Could not open item. Try again." This only happens
when trying to assign a category to an email without opening the email.
 
Version of Outlook? Help-> About
Which mail account type(s) are you using? Tools-> Account Settings
For which mail account type does it fail?
 
Using Microsoft Office 2007.

I'm using an email account Microsoft exchange.

It only fails when I'm using a shared inbox (which i have full rights to),
not my own personal inbox.
 
Hi! I didn't find any correct answer here...

So, Version of my MS Outlook 2007 is 12.0 build 6307
Account - shared MS exchange account (I am owner)

I Removed my Apple iTunes Add-In and it all worked.

TOOLS--> Trust Center-->
Click on Add-ins
At the bottom click on Go (COM Add-ins should be selected)
Untick iTunes Outlook Addin
Click OK
Restart Outlook
And it works :)
