Error Message "Catastrophic Failure"

Hi.
I get an error message - nvcpl -- "Catastrophic Failure" when I try to
access the configuration tab in ..........
Display Properties/Settings/Advanced/GeForce4 MX 420
Equipment is - Motherboard MSI K7T266 Pro2 with Athlon 1.4, Graphics card is
Creative NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 420 with the latest "windows update" provided
drivers. Memory is 1 nr Crucial 512mb (matched as recommended by Crucial
configurator)
Has anyone got any ideas on what might be going on?

None what so ever....but I did come across something

like it before..it went on to say that Graphics Cards can
be the hardest to install as things have to be there way
or no play. These are acouple of sites with tools for
unistallation and reinstallation as well as a wealth of
info to solve your crisis.
As when you go through, links to other great sites are
all around. goodluck...
