error message: can't send test message

B

Bill

I have set up my e-mail account in Outlook 2002 with all
entries correct including my e-mail address. However, when
I click "send test message" after filling in all fields,
every test is marked successful until it gets to "send
test e-mail. Then I get the error message: "test message
failed. please verify sender's e-mail address" But my
correct address is in that field!

If I try to send a message the conventional way, I get the
message: "operation failed. Object not found"

Can anyone help me?

Check with your mailbox provider to see if they require authentication in
order for you to send messages.

Well, look under Outgoing Server, check the box that says My outgoing [SMTP] requries authentication- then check the box that says, use same as incoming [POP]. That may od the trick.

Also, check and make sure your POP3 and SMTP servers are spelled correctly (abc.lmn.com or whatever).
