Error Message - AOL Instant Messenger

Can anyone help me to stop this error message from
popping up when I try to connect to AOL Instant Messenger:

AIM.exe Entry Point Not Found

(red X) Procedure entry point protolsession on line
cannot be located in the dynamic link library proto.ocm

Just had same problem, I answered 'yes' to the update prompt on my
system (WinXP Pro) - I uninstalled AIM, answered "no" to "remove
existing settings, icons, etc.", and then went to www.aim.com, took
the "upgrade" link, installed, and just restarted it and re-entered my
screen name/password. All my lists, icons, etc. were fine. That did
the trick!
