Error Message: Another Installation is Already in Progress.

While trying to install a third party application (which
failed on the first attempt), I get the Error
Message: "Another installation is already in progress.
Complete that installation before proceeding with this
install." Is there a file or log that XP points to
during an attempted install which prevents it from
continuing?
 
It's up to the installer. The installer may be looking for an install
program that is currently running or it may be looking for a registry
key that indicates that there is an install that needs a reboot that
hasn't happened yet.

In any case, reboot and try again.
