error message reads:

A:\ Inaccessible

Incorrect Function

Go to Start/Run, and type DEVMGMT.MSC , highlight the floppy device, Action
menu, "Uninstall", then restart Windows, to find the device drivers again
automatically.

Thanks...but it turns out that the problem seemed to be caused by Norton
Antivirus 2004. I uninstalled it and problem was gone. I reinstalled from
Norton System Works and all is now OK! Don't know exactly what NAV did to
the system, however.
