Error Manipulating Emails Inside of Tasks

K

Karine Rivet

I'm running Outlook 2007 SP2 with all security updates installed. I store
relevant emails inside of tasks so that when I open a task all of the
relevant components are stored in the one location. If I attempt to delete
an email message in a task or if I attempt to paste a new email message on
top of an existing email message in a task I receive the following error.
"Outlook has encountered a problem. You will not be able to undo this action
once it is completed. Do you want to continue?" I can answer yes to the
prompt and I'm able to complete the process without issue, but this
consistently occurs every time. Does anyone know why this is happening and
how to resolve it?

Hi,

Thank you for posting.

From your post, I understand the error "Outlook has encountered a problem"
is encountered when attempting to past a message to a task. If I'm off
base, please feel free to let me know.

At this time, I suggest we attempt following method to troubleshoot the
issue:

Step 1: Please start Outlook in Safe Mode (run Outlook /Safe) to check
whether the issue persists
Step 2: If the issuer persists, please create a new Outlook Profile to
check whether the issue can be solved:

How to create and configure an e-mail profile in Outlook 2007 and Outlook
2003

The issue persisted in Safe Mode. Creating a new Outlook Profile resolved
the issue. Thank you very much!
