TOM

I FORMATTED MY HARD DRIVE AND THEN LOADED WINDOWS 2000.
THERE WERE NO OTHER OPERATING SYSTEMS ON THIS DRIVE. I
ONLY GET THIS ERROR WHEN TRYING TO USE DIALUP FOR AOL. IT
ALSO DOESN'T HAPPEN EVERY TIME. I MAY SIGNON TO AOL 5-6
TIMES BERFORE IT HAPPENS AND THEN SOMETIMES IT IS THE
FIRST ATTEMP. OCCURS AS SOON AS I CLICK ON "SIGNON" ON
THE AOL SCREEN. ANY SUGGESTIONS???

First, turn off the caps lock.

There should be more to the error, including a numeric code and, hopefully,
a driver name as this error is usually associated with a misbehaving driver.
It's probably your modem driver. If you are using the default Win 2000
driver, there may be a mis-match. You might want to visit the modem
manufacturer's site and check for an updated or better matched driver.
