Windows XP Home addition on a Dell Laptop.
Got blue screen "a problem detected...shut down message" with tech info
***stop: 0x0000007e. No other tech info.
Have not recently installed any hardware or software?
I shut down to restart and got windows user signon screen.
Signon and screen cycles thru "closing network connections...loading
personal settings" as if to signon, but then it loops to the sign on screen
again.
Basicly I cannot sign on to my computer??
Tryed in "safe mode". Same result?
Can anyone help?

Check the Microsoft Knowledge base article 321637. It should shed some
light on your problem.

A great site to help troubleshoot stop errors is here:

http://aumha.org/win5/kbestop.php

Instead of safe mode have you tried Last known good configuration?
