Error Installing MDAC update

Basically, my log file says that it can't tell what
version of MDAC (Microsoft Data Access Components) are on
my machine. This usually happens if I have a mix of MDAC
file versions on the machine?. This is typically caused
if you install third party database software.

What I can do to resolver this issue?
