error in mmsys.cpl

I don't know if anyone has encountered anything similar. I am installing a
program, the latest version and it seems to do the installation. When I
restart the computer as is needed by the program, before loading my desktop,
I get the following error:

Error in mmsys.cpl
Missing entry: mmseRunOnce

Afterwards it loads normally, but my program does not work, it looks like it
is missing a driver.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm no expert, but it may help to know what program you are trying to
install, what version of Vista are you running, was it a clean
install/upgrade...

The software is called Total Recorder (I have tried several versions,
including the newest one they have) from High Criteria. The installation
goes thru with no problems, it is until the system reboots that the error
appears.
