Error in Excel 2007 when opening program HELP!

Okay So far not happy with my new installation of office 2007. I just
installed it like minutes ago. When I go to open excel I get an immediate
error message "stdole32.tlb" and then when I click it it says what while
configures or something like that. I tried opening Word and it does the same
darn thing. I put the disk back in and did a repair & it didn't fix it
either. Very frustrated. It should not be like this. I had office 2003 on my
computer prior and now am wishing to go back. it should have been a simple
install and now the programs aren't operating correctly. Can anyone help me?!?

Hi,

So where does the error message appear, since you say you click the error
message, not an OK or Cancel button then I figure you are not in a dialog
box. Also, the entire error message is simply stdole.32.tlb, nothing like
"the following file is missing" or damaged or something else?
