error in deleting file

Whenever i try to delete one particular exe file, it give
me and error message "Cannot delete because file is being
used by some other program". Is there any way to find
out what program or file is using the exe file so i could
delete both files. This problem is only happening with
only this particular file. Any help would be appreciated.

Try these:
- nthandle.exe from SysInternals
- oh.exe (Win2000 Resource Kit)
- compmgmt.msc-Shared Folders-Open Files

Another alternateive is to try booting into Safe Mode. Instructiosn can be found here http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPOR.../2001052409420406?OpenDocument&src=sec_doc_na
Once the machine is up in Safe mode the file should no longer be in use and can be deleted from the system
