Error: Iexplorer.exe - Application error

P

P Straube

I run Win XP Pro with IE 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.030422-1633.
Lately, I've received an error message. The title of the
error box says, "Iexplore.exe - Application Error". The
text in the error box says, "the instruction
at "0x0091b2d5" referenced memory at "0xf900000". The
memeory could not be 'written'".

I've searched the MS Knowledgebase with no luck.

When this happens, the computer goes into a semi-freeze.
I can move the cursor in most cases and do an Alt Tab to
show other programs but I can't move to other programs not
get the keyboard or mouse to do anything. It can take
from a few minutes to 30+ minutes for the system (a Dell
Latitude C840 notebook) to "wake up" and start operating -
after it shows the error message.

While perhaps a coincidence, this started occurring around
the time I upgraded to Office 2003.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

First, scan the system for parasites and remove them. SpyBot S&D searches
your harddisk for Spyware and Adware
http://security.kolla.de/

&

Adaware (similar)

(Remember to perform a Webupdate to have the latest definitions installed)

There was a similar problem with Outlook 97. Check it out just in case.

The instruction at <xxxxxxxxxx> referenced memory at <xxxx:xxxx>. The memory
could not be written.

Or this one,

The memory could not be "written".

"0x77f64675." )

Check also for parasites as suggested by Ramesh in an a previous post.
