Error dialog when exiting my internet browser IE6

Jack Nation

I use WinXP/IE6. When I spend a few minutes surfing the internet webpages,
then close out, I get the following message in a dialog:

The Instruction at "0x7c9105f8" referenced memory at "0x00b10010". The
memory could not be "read".

What can I do to eliminate this?

Hi Jack

A few suggestions:

1. Clear history, cookies and temporary internet files (General tab of
Internet Options of the Tools menu).

2. Try the new Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...E0-E72D-4F54-9AB3-75B8EB148356&displaylang=en

3. It might be a spyware issue. You could try an application like adaware
or the beta of Microsoft Antispyware:

You can read more about spyware at:

http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/default.mspx

4. It may be related to a third party extension. You can turn off third
party extensions via Internet Options -> Advanced Tab and uncheck "Enable
third-party browser extensions (requires restart)". Alternatively, if you
have Windows XP SP2 installed, you can use the "Manage Add-ons" button from
the Programs tab.
