Error Code

I just purchased Windows xp Professional upgrade and each
time I try to install it, I get "Setup cannot continue
Error 476FF58h. Help
 
Mostly this error is due to 3rd party programs

try a diff rom drive
check the article in support.microsoft.com : 316639.KB.EN-US HOW TO:
Prepare to Upgrade Windows 98 or Windows Millennium Edition


removing all pheriphals except for monitor keyboard and mouse
checking for any antivirus or cd recording software to remove it Norton,
Mc Affee etc
copying flat to the HDD
also if the comp is more than 3-4yrs old then
upgrade or take to a tech shop to verify bios. and flash the BIOS
