error code 9

I am unable to read or see my d:/ or e:/ drive. I put in
cd or dvd and nothing happens. and then i get this message
about error code 9 and missing files. please help

This could be an issue of invalid Registry settings. You can try using Add / Remove Hardware. Remove the devices, reboot and allow Windows to pick them up again.
