I have the same error.
Got the invite , installed the program , it all looked good untilI pressed
send/receive and then it gives me the same error message.
I have looked everywhere for a fix but nothing.

Any help would be appreciated ?

anybody been able to fix this?

I had the same problem. But I think it was connected to the earlier build of
windows live mail desktop, I had installed. So uninstalled, deleted Windows
live mail desktop beta folder from local settings/application data/microsoft.
After that i installed WLMD once again. And the problem with the error was
gone.
