Error: "Cannot mark the items read or unread."

My automation project works except for this stuborn error
message that pops up intermittently.

Cannot mark the items read or unread. The most likely
reasons are:

· You don't have permission to modify the items.
· These folders do not support marking items as read or
unread.
· You did not select anything to mark.
· The server is unavailable.

This one is related to the ReadMail addin used in several
rules for the "Clear the Message Flag" feature and move
the mail. It all seems to process ok, but leaves a stack
of these error messages behind.

How can I get around this?

PS: I searched Google, the Knowledge Base and Slipstick
but found nothing. No Reply to email from ReadMail.

To Fix This Issue

run the following FIX it App, that comes installed with outlook 2007

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\SCANPST.EXE"

when opened, use the repair option, open and select your outlook data file found here on windows vista or 7

c:\Users\dsw274\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.pst

if you cant find it or you moved it or change the place of it, or have windows xp follow these steps to find the outlook.pst file

Tools>Account settings>Data File Tab
and you will see the placement of the outlook.pst file or the .pst file if you changed the name.


This issue is caused by a corrupted data file

repair the file and you will fix the problem
