error adding workstation to domain

Hi all

I am getting following errors when adding a windows2000 or windows 2003 to a windows 2003 active directory with only DNS (not using WINS at all) test environment. Problem is only when machine is across the router, ie on different segment
No problem if machine on the same segment where the domain controller is

"network path not found

and some times error is " RPC server is unavailable

There is no access list on the router between those two segments. Please advice

What class is your network, and what is your subnet mask
that you are using? Please give more details so we can
help you out...
