Error Accessing Archive Folders

G

Guest

I have archived emails twice prior to upgrading to Outlook 2003 and once
after the upgrade. All 3 archive folders (each named "Archive") appear in
the Outlook folders list but none will open. They were each archived
directly to CD.
When I left click on each folder, this msg appears "The set of folders could
not be opened. The server is not available. Contact your administrator if
this persists."
I am not in a server environment; I am a single standalone PC.
When I right click for Properties, that option is grayed out.
When I try to restore any archive from CD, this msg appears: "File access is
denied. You do not have the permission required to access the file".
The archived PST files are not named "archive.pst", but rather they are
named for the dates they represent.
Pls somebody help.
Thanks...D.C. Einsele

outlook needs read/write access to pst files, so direct from a cd won't work,
when you copy them off the CD, they are still read-only, right click and
uncheck that.
