Hello,
I'm wondering if there's a fix for the following most annoying error:
"Error 720 - The connection attempt failed because
your computer and the remote computer could not agree on PPP control
protocols"
I've done what I believe to be thorough investigation into this, and have
tried everything suggested in all the newsgroups except the following two
suggestions:
1. Reinstall TCP/IP
2. Reinstall the OS
These are two very drastic steps that I'd really rather not do if I can
avoid it. They'd probably fix it, but it's a bit of an extreme remedy --
and if it should reoccur, the remedy is not exactly what I'd call trivial.
MORE INFO:
I also have a Cisco VPN client installed that uses that Deterministic
Network Enhancer. I've seen some others that have the same thing and are
also having the same problems. However, some aren't using it and are also
having the same problem.
So, can anyone suggest a sure fired way to fix this? It's damn annoying!!
And I just don't think that reinstalling the OS (or TCP/IP) is all that good
of a solution. There must be some other way.
Thanks,
Dave
