Error 711: remote access connection manager service cannot be

I recently applied W2K SP3 Pro and found that my Remote
Access Connection Manager Service is in "stopped" mode and
cannot be started (returns "Could not start the Remote
Access Connection Manager Service on Local Computer.
Error 5: Access is denied).

Several of the fixes I have researched recommend
reinstalling RAS. However, that seems to require a
component called "Adminpak.msi" to install the Remote
Access Connection Manager. Unfortunately, Adminpak.msi is
located on the W2K Server CD, which I do not possess.

Any ideas on how I can reinstall RAS without having to
drop several hundred dollars for the W2K Server CD?

Open up the registry and make a backup.
Drill down to
HKEY Local Machine/System/CurrentControlset/Services/Rasman/PPP/EAP
If you have the 25 and 26 subkeys, delete them.
Close registry and reboot.
