I have searched the web for solutions to what seems to be a common error,
but have had no luck.
Symptom. After establishing a Broadband connection on my laptop, I have
found the error message immediately upon trying to use my dial up
connection. Says the modem is in use and will not connect. There is no fax
program, no bluetooth, and no other device is being used.
Several TS websites have similar posts and notes refer to this being an OS
(SP2) issue which MS needs to address. I sent my pc back twice for repairs
after hours and much struggling with this. Upon returning my flatlined pc to
me (what else would you expect), the DUN works beautufully. However once I
establish the Broadband connection at work, upon returning home, the dial up
is dead error 633 again.
Is there a solution short of reinstalling the OS ( with all of the obvious
drawbacks of lost dataa, time etc) which anyone there can provide? A Bit
frustrated and in need of help/
