Hi
Hoping someone can help us here- we've all been pulling our hair out trying
to fix this problem with no luck so far!
For the last week or so, we have been having major problems with our Server
2000/Terminal Server. For some reason, whenever we try to access local
resources (drives, printers, etc) through a Terminal Server session, we are
getting the message:
"\\SHARE is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this
network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you
have access permissions.
The specified server cannot perform the requested operation"
Now seeing as how I am the administrator, contacting myself for help isn't
going to work!
We also tried mapping the drive through a command prompt with the NET USE
command, and were given the "Error 58" message.
The strange thing is that we have never had any problems with network drives
and shares before and have no idea why this would be happening now. We can't
pinpoint the problem to anything, which is why we are so stumped just now.
The other weird thing is, that sometimes these shares will work firstv thing
in the morning, but as the day goes on, they will inexplicably stop working!
You can imagine the reactions of our irrate users! Sometimes our remote users
can fix the problems by restarting their machines, or in some extreme cases,
by switching their routers and firewalls off then back on.
If anyone can help use here, you would receive my eternal gratitude, as well
as a beer if we ever met!
Thanks
