Error 1904 and "Unexpected Error; quitting": Workaround

Ran across this problem this week, and after a fair amount of looking, did
not see anything listed here or anything else that points to the real problem.

The problem is that MSAS creates registry keys in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT which
are ONLY accessible by SYSTEM and the account which installed MSAS. So
machines with multiple users are unable to use MSAS, even if they are Admin.
(Hence the "Unexpected Error; quitting" problems).

When MSAS is uninstalled, some of those keys are left behind, and cannot be
removed except by the account that originally installed MSAS. (Hence the
"Error 1904: Unable to register|unregister" errors).

I have posted a quick and dirty workaround at
http://www.gotroot.com/tiki-read_article.php?articleId=274

I'm working on a better solution, but my time is very limited. Hopefully MS
can pick up from here.

I've tried this workaround but still I cannot get my MSAS to work under the
other 3 users on my XP Home system, only the admin user that installed the
program can run it even though all 4 users are administrators.

Are there any other solutions out there that are tried and tested and known
to always work?

Thanks
