error 1722 Windows Installer Package not working

Please help! I tried to install Java and got an error
message stating that there is a problem with the Windows
INstaller Package. When I tried to download the
installer software, I get a message saying that it is
included in XP. How do I fix this?

CAUSE

These errors are InstallShield error codes, which indicate that an
action failed during the installation process.
