Error 1722. There is a problem with this windows installer package.

Hi


I am receiving the error message Error 1722. there is a problem with this
windows installer pacakge. When installing the CISCO IP communicator on a
windows 2000 laptop. I have installed this sucessfully installed this on 6
other laptops.

As per other forums I have tried to reinstall the windows installer - only
to be given an error message that I have the wrong os ???

Also I have registered one of the dll file that makes up the installer
pacakge by running the following command. regsvr32 wintrust.dll.

I am running out of options. cna anyone help.

According to Microsoft, the error might point to a specific
file as a source of the error, depending on which error log
file was created. Maybe you want to check that out?
