error 1706

hi can anybody help me i keep getting a box appearing on my screen saying
unload please wait while windows configures unload then another box will
appear saying error 1706 no valid source could be found for product unload
the windows installer cannot continue can anyone tell me what this means and
how i can fix the problem many thanks

It means that there is a problem relating to the Windows Installer, and some
product called "unload."

Do you have any idea what that product is, or where to find the source for
it?

If you do not, you can use the Windows Installer cleanup tool to fix this:

There is a download link for this utility in the above KB article. Read it
carefully--this tool can be dangerous. If you remove something using it,
you will need to reinstall it if it is something you wish to continue using.
