Error 1609

I just tried to install Windows Defender on a windows XP home edition Dutch
version with SP2 installed. When installing i receive the error 1609:
An error occured when applying security settings Users is not a vallid user
or group.


I solved this issue by going to the command prompt and type:
net localgroup USERS /add

It created the users group. Too bad this problem will probably occur on
every NON-english installation.

After creation of the group the installation proceeded. I hope i will not
get too many strange this now.

Excellent! I had the same error code on THREE different desk- and laptops
running XP pro sp2, two with English language and one in Danish.
Your work-around works flawless on these machines.
(pretty weird in the first place that WD had errors on all three machines...)

Helped a lot on Norwegian version... What i cant understand is that microsoft
cant fix that bug. I waited a couple of weeks without any antivir software
because i thought they would fix it, and couldnt get the beta 1 again...
