Error 1500 while installing

Hello,

I've got a Windows 2000 SP4 computer that I'm trying to install Norton on
from our server. I keep getting Error 1500 about another installation being
in progress, but there is nothing else running. Anyone have any ideas on
this? Thanks.

Mark, Did your message look like this:
"Can someone help me. I am trying to do some installs and I keep getting

Error 1500. Another installation is in progress. You must complete that

installation before continuing this one.

I do not have anything else open, why should this even come up. It happens

quite often

Any help gratefully appreciated"

I never did get a response from the newsgroups, but someone told me they got
rid of Norton and reinstalled Windows Installer. I did that and it worked on
XP Pro anyway. That was 2 weeks ago, and no error 1500 yet!.
