Error 1402

[Dick Dunnington]

Ran into the following error message when trying to
install Norton SystemWorks 2004: "Error 1402. Could not
open key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Currentversio
n\explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{BDF3E430-B101-42AD-A544-
FADC68084872}. Verify that you have sufficient access to
that key, or contact your support personnel."

When I went to the registry key it is grayed-out and under
security permissions, I get: "Unable to display security
information."

As a result Norton System Works 2004 will not install.
Would appreciate assistance in clearing this problem.

There's a good chance you have some spyware installed. You might want to try
one or both of these.
