ERROR 1335 while installing PPoint

Ive tried to install Power Point from my Office XP cd and
in the process it stops and says.
error 1335: the cabinet file OFFIC1.CAB required for
this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This
could indicate a network error, an error reading from the
cd-rom or a problem with this package.

Is there anybody out there that can give me some
suggestion. This package had been working fine before is
just that Ive had to reinstall it on account that I had
to reformat my HD.

Rafael,

(1) This could indicate a network error,
(2) an error reading from the cd-rom
(3) or a problem with this package.

Is the CD-ROM on your local PC and not a network (that rules out point 1)
Does the CD look in good condition (clean and no scratches). Have you cleaned the CD-ROM drive with a special cleaning
CD?
Is it the correct CD?
