Error 1327 Invalid drive Z:\

Hi, can someone help me please.

For the last couple of weeks I've been getting the message "Error 1327
Invalid drive Z:" whenever I try to install or uninstall anything from my
pc, using either the CD drive or installing from downloaded files.

Can anyone help me fix this? Could it be something I've done?
