Hi

What, exactly, were you trying to do when you saw the error? We need a few

Over a month ago I tried to attach an external DVD RWdirect to the back of
the tower and a message appeared saying the hardware was not recognised. I
had followed the directions for the installation. I have since then tried to
install Brother printer/copier/scanner/fax, again following the directions
and installing software and not attaching the USB cable until directed
however the installation is not happening. I have had Windows XP Home
Edition for 4 years and have had SP2 from 2004 with all updates current, my
last successful installation of software for a peripheral was approx 11
months ago. I have uninstalled the previous printer and the other
peripherals are a digi camera and a digi pocket memo, The camera and pocket
memo are downloading fine.I have since forgotten the exact process that I
followed to encounter the 126 error however I had opened the administrative
tools and seen that the service status in Application Management Properties
(LC) had been stopped. Startup type in AMP is on manual and the service
status is stopped. I clicked start and the error message appeared saying
that the specified module could not be found. I have not inserted parameters
as I am not sure of what to insert as I only want the hardware and software
installations to happen.
