Error 0x8024402c

I'm running Windows 2000 SP4, Sophos anti-virus software and the free
ZoneLabs firewall. MicroSoft Anti-Spyware (Beta 1) worked fine. Have just
installed Windows Defender (Beta 2) and get a "0x8024402c" error when trying
to update the definitions.

Scans fine, but obviously definitions are out of date.

Anyone experienced this issue (and found a solution)?

Just read a post about updating the definitions via the general MicroSoft
Updates page/link (circumventing the WSUS route). The "Updates Scan"
identified that the definitions needed updating - I installed them and it's
working fine. Went from the yellow warning triangle to the green tick.

Hopefully MicroSoft will fix the ability to update the defintions from
within Windows Defender directly.
